Mahsa Hosseini
University of California, Los Angeles
My name is Mahsa Hosseini and I am currently the president of the Interfaith Student Council, which I started last year as a response to the president's challenge. It's hard to believe that a school as well known and large as UCLA did not not previously have an interfaith student group. I have been involved in interfaith work for many years now, so when I transferred to UCLA in the fall of 2010, I knew I wanted to do something that would impact the student body and the president's challenge couldn't have come at a better time. With the help of the University Religious Conference and the UCLA Center for Student Programming, we were able to get the club started and plan events, such as an interfaith art show, participation at Volunteer Day and upcoming events like the interfaith open house and interfaith dialog night.
